Autumn Hiking

Derek and I have been spending our weekends hiking at different places around Utah. After all we are planning to move to California in December, so it won't be half as easy to explore all of Utah's beautiful national parks. We have some pictures from hiking Y mountain, some hot springs near Spanish Fork, and Arches National Park. Also, Derek's brother Jack and his girlfriend Danielle along with Derek's sister Katie came to visit us for general conference. We were able to go and see the Saturday afternoon session live, which is always a treat. You can really feel the Spirit in such close proximity to the general authorities of the Church. There were some fantastic talks too. That's about all that's new with us. Unfortunately, adventures are hard to come by during the semester. We've both been pretty busy with homework, but we're enjoying our time. Sorry for this half-hearted blog, but I'm trying to watch the Simpsons.

We have enjoyed reading your blogs Rachel. It is a way for us to see how Derek and you are doing on regular basis. The pictures are amazing. The last blog however left us kind of wondering. Maybe it is b/c we donot understand the Mormon religion that well but anyways. Both of you take care..

Y'all should definitely go to Zions if you haven't been there yet. Also, Moab as well. Even if you don't have a rock-crawler, the biking is great there as well. Where in Cali will you be moving to? I'm glad y'all are finishing up there and good luck in classes!

I personally can't wait until you guys move to Cali (when is that by the way?)

I know things are really busy, but we will have to work on getting together and checking out some of the sights in California. I personally think Tahoe is beautiful and I really want to check out the Redwoods! Perhaps this coming summer. Our baby should be old enough to handle the great outdoors by then :)
